Cosmology, Non-Gaussianity and One-Loop Galaxy Clustering
While the simplest models of inflation predict primordial fluctuations to be Gaussian, late-time nonlinear evolution makes the observed large-scale properties of fluctuations in the Universe non-Gaussian. A key step in properly extracting cosmological information from galaxy surveys thus involves accurately describing the induced non-Gaussianity in the broadest range of scales possible. We discuss recent progress in predicting non-Gaussianity arising from the mapping of dark matter to galaxy perturbations using one-loop perturbation theory and how its use improves analyses based on statistics that rely only on Gaussian information.
