Quo Vadis Electroweak-Scale Model Building (PRETALK for students at 15:30 h)

The Standard Model of particle physics, while being obviously incomplete, so far withstood all precision tests at particle colliders. In particular, new resonances predicted close to the electroweak scale have remained oblivious. I will briefly review recent model-building ideas which aim to extend the Standard Model around the TeV scale and I will discuss ways to test them experimentally.
